Town of Hiles Board Meeting
Monday, August 9, 2010
Hiles Town Hall
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Members present were: Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisor Tom Gardner, Supervisor Steve Meis, and Clerk Janice Schultz.
The minutes of the July 7, 2010, Hiles Town Board meeting were read. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Supervisor Gardner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Supervisor Meis to approve as presented. Motion carried. All State checks will be coming in as an electronic deposit. Forms were filled out and turned into the state
Roads
• Bridge sign repaired on Hay Creek Road
• Bridges brushed out on Cary Hiles Road and Wallace Road
• Tiger stripe will be ordered for Wallace Road
• The rest of the bridges will be brushed out in late fall when the bees are gone
• The County has not started work on Berry Road as yet
• New fire numbers were installed on Ivy Dow and Cranberry Roads as needed
Town Hall Roof - Jim Franson was called and has not returned an opinion as yet
Storm Damage – Property damage on Wallace Road and trees down along CTH V & E, Wallace Road, Holst Road. No injuries and not enough damage to ask the governor for a disaster declaration.
Correspondence/E-Mail
• Sept Primary Election—new voting procedure. Discussion on new ballot style and poll workers
• For September: Steve/Patti Meis split, one of the Potter girls, Trent or Cody Miner as Chief Inspector
• For November: Emma Huber, one of the Potter girls, Trent Miner as Chief Inspector
• Chairman Miner is arranging for the needed second locked box for the September Election
The next meeting will be Tuesday, September 7, at 6:30 p.m. to conduct normal Town business
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Supervisor Meis to make all payments as presented. Motion carried.
Motion made by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Supervisor Gardner to adjourn. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 7:10 pm.
