April 13, 2010 Monthly Board Meeting
Town of Hiles Board Meeting
Tuesday, April 13, 2010
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Members present were: Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisor Steve Meis, and Clerk Janice Schultz.
The minutes of the March 8, 2010, Hiles Town Board meeting were read. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Date set for Road Inspection—Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 8 am meeting at Supervisor Gardner’s.
Bidding out of Berry Road TRIP project to be conducted by Chairman Miner, with opening at the May meeting.
Reviewed Fahrner Asphalt bid for 2010 of $1.50 per pound. Moved by Supervisor Meis to approve contract and seconded by Chairman Miner.
Reviewed Wood County 50/50 application. Chairman Miner completed the application for an unknown named project.
Reviewed LP for Town Hall. Six bids were received. Lowest bid was Harmony Co-op and contacted to fill.
Training for hand counting election results was provided by County Clerk Cepress on March 31. Clerk Schultz, Emma Huber, and Amy Miner attended.
Election workers for April 6 were Chief Inspector Cody Miner, Patti Meis/Steve Meis (split shift), and Emma Huber.
Correspondence:
• Letter from Wood County Surveyor Kevin Boyer requesting notification on construction projects planned for 2010 so as to preserve survey monuments. (Chairman Miner has already notified Boyer about Berry Road project.)
• Letter from Wood County Emergency Management regarding Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week, April 19-23, 2010.
• Letter from Robert W Baird & Co, Financial Advisor for Mid-State Technical College District on outstanding debt. Clerk completed and mailed form showing Town of Hiles has no outstanding debt.
• Letter from Agent Joe Grant of Rural Mutual Insurance Co informing that he is combining office with Tim Comeau at 2612 West Grand Ave, WI Rapids. Updated business cards.
• Received Managed Forest Law Transfer Order from WI Dept of Natural Resources transferring land from Kathleen Urban to William J Urban for the time remaining on the 25 year period of the original Order.
The next meeting will be determined at a later date.
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to pay all bills as presented. Motion carried.
Motion made by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to adjourn. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 6:45 pm.
