Hiles Town Board Meeting
August 6, 2009
Hiles Town Hall
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 5:35 pm.
Members Present were Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisors Tom Gardner and Steve Meis, Treasurer Kimberly Miner, and Clerk Jan Schultz.
The minutes of the July 6 meeting were read. Moved by Gardner and seconded by Meis to approve as presented. Motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Meis and seconded by Gardner to approve. Motion carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
Berry Road estimate from county comes to $22,186.52. Trent will have them schedule that and wait to see what the timeline will be for gravel pending harvest. This estimate includes all culverts except the bulkhead which does not need changing.
Town hall LP options. Reviewed LP quote form Winch Oil Co. A used 500 gallon tank will cost $1,000.00. Tom is looking for a tank from his contacts. If Town owns its own tank, can easily go with whichever provider quotes the best price.
U.S. PIRG--Modernizing Voter Registration. Trent is reading documents received.
Comprehensive Plan for Floodplains and Shorelands. Do not need any actions as Hiles is not zoned.
Humane Officer Training materials discarded as not needed.
Civic System software--not needed and discarded.
Town Road Work - preserving Section and Quarter Section survey markers during road construction. Materials given to Trent and he will take care of this as needed.
Goetz Abstract & Title - Tax Key No. 09-00507. No assessments. Letter signed and returned to Goetz.
Public Service Commission of WI - Northern States Power Biomass for production of electricity. Does not affect Town of Hiles. Material filed for future reference.
Rate increase from Veolia Environmental discussed. No action required as nothing can be done about the increase.
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Gardner and seconded by Miner to pay all bills presented.
The next meeting will be held on September 9 at 6:30 pm.
Motion by Gardner and seconded by Meis to adjourn. Motion carried.
