Monday, February 08, 2010

Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:37 pm.

Members present were: Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisor Tom Gardner, Treasurer Kimberly Miner, and Clerk Janice Schultz.

The minutes of the January 11, 2010, Hiles Town Board meeting were read. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.

The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.

• Reviewed delinquent taxes and action that needs to be taken on personal property delinquencies. A letter from the Treasurer will be going out to all personal property tax delinquencies.

Reviewed prevailing wage requirements as related to Berry Road – Chairman Miner has sent for a determination on prevailing wages for the project. This has to be done on all projects over $25K 50 to 60 days prior to bidding. The Board is following guidelines as spelled out by the Towns Association and distributed at the district meeting in Marshfield.

Also at the WTA District Meeting in Marshfield, Chairman Miner and Clerk Schultz were certified for Board of Review. Information received was placed on file for future reference.

For the election on February 16th, Cody Miner, Amy Miner, and Steve Meis/Patti Jaromin Meis (who will be splitting the day) will work. This was thought to be the first election for hand counting but we will have one more central count election. April should be the 1st hand count.

The AutoMark has been inventoried and the information placed on file. Appropriate labels have been placed on the machine. The machine received maintenance by ES&S staff on January 28, 2010, at the Marshfield City Clerk’s Office.

Correspondence:

• Logging notices given for Douglas Gorst, Jr., and Kenneth Keuntjes
• The Boundary Validation Form for the 2010 census was received and found to be correct. The form was signed by Chairman Miner and sent back.
• Chairman Miner received a call from the Wood County Forest Administrator asking that a logger be able to deck wood along Boyer Road. Permission was given as long as the wood is out by spring thaw. Logs will not be allowed to remain over the summer.
• There is a new Rural Mutual agent for our area. Ken Schwab has retired and in his place is Joe Grant.
• The Town of Dexter Comprehensive Plan was received on CD. The CD is readable. The Table of Contents was presented at the meeting. The full document will be printed and available for review.
• Seven workshops on completing Form C are being offered around the State. Clerk Schultz will be attending one of these workshops.
• A newsletter from North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission was shared with the Board.
• A letter and packet was received from General Engineering Company requesting being selected as the Building Inspection Agency for the Town of Hiles. A sample fee schedule was included. No action taken.

The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Chairman Miner to pay all bills as presented. Motion carried.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010.

Motion made by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Chairman Miner to adjourn. Motion carried.

Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 7:07 pm.
