Board of Review Meeting
Wednesday, July 12, 2017
Hiles Town Hall
Meeting called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Trent Miner.
Present: Trent Miner, Tom Gardner, Mark Gudel, Janice Schultz, and Gerald Wegner.
First order of business was to elect a Board of Review Chairman. Tom Gardner nominated Trent Miner. There were no additional nominations. Mark Gudel made a motion to cast a unanimous ballot electing Miner as Chairman. Seconded by Gardner. Motion carried.
Tom Gardner is certified Board of Review member (2016-2018).
Open Book session changes: None. Previously, Assessor Wegner had 1 phone call asking for explanation but not requesting any action.
No objection Forms were received by the Clerk.
Assessor Wegner shared the following figures and information:
This year: $20,065,600
Last year: $19,766.850
Previous year: $19,682,700
Equalized Valuation given by the State
This Year: State figures not available until after August 15.
Last year: $21,941,700
Previous year: $22,089,600
$412,000 in new residential construction and $15,000 in new farm construction.
Old/vacant buildings: removed $2,300 from farm and none from residential.
Land changes in classification: 11 sites moved from Ag to residential but no change in valuation.
Depreciated 4 residential units $8,700 and $3,000 in farm.
Assessor certified for another 4 years.
Moved by Gardner to adjourn. Seconded by Gudel. Motion carried
Meeting adjourned by Chairman Miner at 8:00 p.m.
