Tuesday, July 19, 2011
Hiles Town Hall
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Present were: Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisor Tom Gardner, Supervisor Mark Gudel, Treasurer Kimberly Miner, and Clerk Janice Schultz.
The minutes of the Wednesday June 8, 2011, Hiles Town Board meeting were presented. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Supervisor Gudel to approve as corrected. Correction: Steve Meis abstained from voting for the Supervisor to finish out his term. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Supervisor Gudel and seconded by Supervisor Gardner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Update on road construction
• Chairman Miner met with John Cepress and took a ride over the roads we intend to gravel.
o Hay Creek Road from end of blacktop to former Nieman Road; approximately 2000 tons. $7.80/ton - $15,600.00 using ¾” road base
o Boyer Road - $7.60/ton using 1.25” material, unknown quantity but going down to almost the end of 2nd mile just short of corner due to ditching problem.
o Weisner Road - $8.90/ton using 1.25” material. More because of haul.
o Town of Cary grader will be contacted when graveling complete to do the leveling
• TRIP program will be coming up again. Possible roads to contemplate – Kurt Creek Road or Koppen Road if shared with Town of Dexter. Applications will be forthcoming and a decision will have to be made then.
• Blacktopping should be happening by the end of this month or early August on Wallace Road, Cary-Hiles Road and the Town Hall parking lot.
• Crackfilling has been done for the year.
• Road ditches have been mowed
Towns Association meeting August 19th at 7:30 p.m. D exter Town Hall is being rented for $100.00. Sheriff Tom Reichert will introduce Officer Joe Zurfluh and K-9 Officer Toro as our program. Chairman Miner is inviting Mayor Chris Meyer and Mayor Mary Jo Carson to that meeting as well, as guests. Baums will do the food for the meeting. Board, Treasurer, and Clerk are to each make a cake or bars for dessert.
Board approved request of Clerk Schultz to attend the Clerks Convention in the Dells—August 23 to 26 with reimbursement of appropriate expenses.
Correspondence
o Pre-disaster mitigation survey completed by Chariman Miner for Wood County Emergency Management for FEMA.
o Complaint received on condition of Kurt Creek Road. Board will consider action to be taken at a later meeting.
• Humane Officer Training September 26-30
• Information from Harmony Country Cooperatives. Does the Town want to go on auto fill?
• July issue of Wood County Farm Bureau News.
• Received from the WI Department of Revenue the full market value manufacturing real estate Assessment roll for Hay Creek Pallet
• Request for information on the ATV route in Town of Hiles from Heather Gehrt, ATV Coordinator with the Wood County Park and Forestry Department. Chairman Miner took care of this. The Ordinance and rules are on the Town Website.
• 2010 Annual Report from the North Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission
• Received Managed Forest Law Transfer Order from the WI Department of Natural Resources for 33 acres from Gilbert & Iris Reindl Trust to Patrick L Reindl
• Letter from Julie Lassa on Redistricting.
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Supervisor Gudel to make all payments as presented. Motion carried.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 6:30 p.m.
Motion made by Supervisor Gudel and seconded by Supervisor Gardner to adjourn. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 7:15 p.m.
