March 8, 2010 Monthly Board Meeting
Town of Hiles Board Meeting
Monday, March 08, 2010
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm.
Members present were: Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisor Steve Meis, Treasurer Kimberly Miner, and Clerk Janice Schultz. Also present was Town of Hiles resident Wally Wegner and Rural Insurance Agent Joe Grant.
The minutes of the February 8, 2010, Hiles Town Board meeting were read. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
• Update on delinquent personal property is on the Treasurer’s Report.
Rural Insurance Agent Joe Grant reviewed this year’s policies and premiums with the Board. Clerk Schultz shared comparison of last year’s and this year’s costs per coverage. This year’s premiums were approved by the board. Motion by Supervisor Meis and Seconded by Chairman Miner to pay the premiums. Motion carried. Mr. Grant will mail a receipt to the Clerk.
Resident Wally Wegner brought up the difficulty he is having with a neighbor’s dogs. There is nothing more the Board can do. Letters have been sent outlining the statute pertaining to dogs. Also, the owner has received correspondence from the County on this matter. Another concern brought up by Mr Wegner was the ice on his road—particularly in the tree area. Chairman Miner will talk to our provider about taking extra measurer in this area.
Reviewed the ordinance allowing for split shifts for elections. Motion by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve the ordinance. Motion carried.
Reviewed April 6th election set up. Election workers will be Steve Meis/Patti Meis, Emma Huber, Janice Schultz/Cody Miner.
Training for hand counting will be provided by County Clerk Cepress on March 31. Clerk Schultz will be attending. Checking on availability of Cody Miner and Emma Huber to also attend.
Discussed annual meeting topics. Clerk Schultz will have the annual financial report printed for the meeting.
Correspondence:
• Received prevailing wage determination for Berry Road TRIP project. A project notice will be worked up and posted.
• Logging notice for Rod & Pam Pralle received and placed on file.
• Fire Dept inspection of the Town Hall was completed on February 16, 2010. No violations were detected.
• Logging on Boyer Road did not happen, per Wood County Forest Administrator. The logging will have to be done next winter.
• Rural Insurance comparison of last year and this year premiums and coverage.

The next meeting will be held on April 13, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. Annual Meeting at 7:00 p.m.
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to pay all bills as presented. Motion carried.
Motion made by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to adjourn. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 7:30 pm.
