May 13, 2010 Monthly Board Meeting
Town of Hiles Board Meeting
Thursday, May 13, 2010
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Members present were: Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisor Tom Gardner, Supervisor Steve Meis, and Clerk Janice Schultz.
The minutes of the April 13, 2010, Hiles Town Board meeting were read. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Supervisor Meis to approve as presented. Motion carried.
The minutes of the May 1, 2010, Road Inspection Meeting were read. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Superisor Meis to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Reviewed the Road Inspection Report. A copy of the report is attached. The Boyer Road grading will be done by the Town of Cary after the rains subside.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Supervisor Gardner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Reviewed bid process of Berry Road TRIP Project. Bid packets are ready and ads have been placed for the next 2 weeks. The Town can use the County for our 50/50 on the shouldering. More time is needed for this process and bids will be opened at the June Town Meeting.
Update on Board of Review. Since Assessor Wegner is not done, Board will adjourn to a later date at the June 8 Board Meeting to keep within the 30-day timeline set by the State. Assessing should be done sometime in June. The Board will be kept updated via e-mail or phone.
Reviewed Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan as proposed by Wood County emergency Management. Reviewed e-mail from Director Steve Kreuser. Motion by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Supervisor Meis to participate. Motion carried.
Correspondence:
• Received Thank You from PHS Junior Class for allowing use of town Hall for Prom decoration preparation.
• Rothschild Biomass-Fired Cogeneration Facility information placed on file.
• Rural Mutual Workers Comp and Employers Liability premium will remain at $903 after adjustment worksheet was completed and returned back in March. Notice placed on file.
• Sheriff Reichert'sVisit May 20, 9:30-10:30. Notice has been posted.
• Gold Star Certificate from County Clerk Cepress on April 6 election. Placed on file.
• Notice of voter Martha P Lippert transfer to City of Oshkosh. Appropriate action taken.
• WI Town Assoc Membership Cards received. Certificate of membership posted.
• Letter from County Treasurer reminding Boards of critical dates, duties, and requirements for Assessors and Clerks.
Verification of payroll deductions based on latest information from IRS presented.
The next meeting will be June 8 at 6:30 p.m. to adjourn Board of Review and conduct normal Town business
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Supervisor Gardner to pay all bills as presented. Motion carried.
Motion made by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Supervisor Meis to adjourn. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 6:48 pm.
