Town of Hiles Board Meeting
Tuesday, November 08, 2011
Hiles Town Hall
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:39 pm.
Present were: Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisor Mark Gudel, Treasurer Kimberly Miner, and Clerk Janice Schultz.
The minutes of the Tuesday, October 11, Hiles Town Board meeting were presented. Moved by Supervisor Gudel to approve the minutes with the following correction--the motion to approve as presented the Treasurer’s report on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, was seconded by Supervisor Gardner, not Chairman Gardner. The motion with correction was seconded by Chairman Miner. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Supervisor Gudel and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
TRIP program – Chairman Miner completed the application and turned it in—due date was Nov 1. The TRIP committee met on November 3rd to rate the applications. The Town applied for Kurt Creek Road. A vehicle count was completed and showed an average of 57 vehicles over a 5-day period—cost was $86.23. The Town was not selected this year. There were 14 applications and 7 awards. The Town ranked 9th. The Town will still complete work on Kurt Creek Road.
County Clerk Cindy Cepress is providing election training on December 1 at the Pittsville Community Center. Two Chief Inspectors, Chairman Miner, and Clerk Schultz will be attending the 3-hour training. Due to all the changes, it will be necessary to provide additional training at the Town Hall for election inspectors.
Correspondence
• The Clerk completed the federally mandated Synar Survey reporting that the Town of Hiles does not have any Tobacco Licenses. Mailed November 9, 2011.
• The letters have been replaced on the Town Hall sign by Chairman Miner.
• The Town Hall will be rented November 26.
The next Town meeting will be Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at 6:30 pm.
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Gudel and seconded by Chairman Miner to make all payments as presented. Motion carried.
Motion made by Supervisor Gudel and seconded by Chairman Miner to adjourn. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 6:55 p.m.
