Town of Hiles Board Meeting
Tuesday, October 11, 2011
Hiles Town Hall
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Present were: Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisor Tom Gardner, Supervisor Mark Gudel, Treasurer Kimberly Miner, and Clerk Janice Schultz.
The minutes of the Wednesday, September 7, Hiles Town Board meeting were presented. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Supervisor Gudel to approve as presented. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Supervisor Gudel and seconded by Chairman Gardner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
TRIP program – Chairman Miner has the application almost done and will turn it in next week—due date is Nov 1. The TRIP committee meets on November 3rd to rate the applications. Dexter did call about Koppen Road, but the Town is applying for Kurt Creek Road. A vehicle count was completed and showed an average of 57 vehicles over a 5-day period.
Did preliminary work on 2012 budget. Directive from the Board to maintain the same tax rate as last year.
Correspondence
• Bench donated to the town from the family of Roy “Buttons” Ewer. Chairman Miner will make sure it gets anchored during the summer and taken in during the winter. Thank you note sent to the family.
• Contracts for 2012: Pittsville Fire $18,377.88 Emergency Medical $7,876.24
• 2012 General Transportation Aids Estimate: $32,009.04
• Estimated November 21, 2011, Shared Revenue Payment $9,198
• Estimated 2012 Shared Revenue Payment $10,688
• Pittsville Fire Department Open House, October 23 from 11-3
• Final estimate of January 2, 2011, population is 166. Approximately 123 estimated are of voting age.
• Website upgrade information shared with the Board.
The next Town Board/Budget Hearing meeting will be Tuesday, November 8, 2011.
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Supervisor Gudel to make all payments as presented. Motion carried.
Motion made by Supervisor Gudel and seconded by Supervisor Gardner to adjourn. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 6:55 p.m.
