Hiles Town Board Meeting
Monday, October 12, 2009
Hiles Town Hall
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Members Present were Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisors Tom Gardner and Steve Meis, and Clerk Jan Schultz.
The minutes of the September 9 meeting were read. Moved by Meis and seconded by Gardner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
The treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Gardner and seconded by Meis to approve as presented. Motion carried.
ROADS
Berry Road update. The County’s portion is done. Cepress to give quote on remaining work.
TRIP funding. Town’s Association meeting Friday. The TRIP Committee to determine roads to be funded.
Hay Creek Road construction update. Gardner has concreted entire business area. Section of the road in front of the docks will be blacktopped. The estimate is $10,000.
Reviewed snowplowing services for the 2009-10 season. Jeff Ignatowski, Chairman of the Town of Cary, was called and they will do again.
Contract for salting from Wood County was signed and the services will be on a per call basis.
BUDGET
The 2009 budget and year-to-date payments were reviewed. Documents and contracts for 2010 expenses and revenues were discussed and considered in establishing the budget for the 2010 year. A budget was drafted for posting for the electors and budget review meeting set for November 12, 2009. The Board wants to maintain a zero percentage levy increase.
CORRESPONDENCE
Town hall LP. Trent and Gardner set new LP tank in place on September 23. Winch Oil pumped fuel from old tank to new tank. Frontier to pull out the old tank. Trent is contacting them on a removal date.
Reviewed the contracts from the Pittsville Fire Department and EMS Service. Contracts were signed.
Sanitary permit for Art Potts property received and filed.
NCWRPC Newsletter given to Trent.
WI Department of Administration gave final estimate of Town population as 187 with estimated population eligible to vote at 128.
UDC Enforcement document from the Safety and Building Division of the Department of Commerce was reviewed. Trent will call for clarification on costs and comparisons.
Clerk will be attending the Town Association Conference in Stevens Point on Tuesday, October 13.
Reviewed document on land enrolled in County Forest Law as of July 1, 2009.
Received documentation of sale of portion of Arthur Potts property from Badgerland Surveying.
Information from Lang Enterprises, Inc. on signs meeting Federal and State requirements given to Trent.
Special Assessments form from County Treasurer was approved for signing and returning with no assessments listed.
Information received on the H1N1 Flu with directive to provide an action plan. Schultz will work on a draft for the November meeting.
Received the Farm Bureau membership card and placed on file.
The blend group condensed sales summary report was received from the Wausau office. Placed on file.
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Gardner and seconded by Meis to pay all bills presented and the quarterly 941. Motion carried.
The next meeting will be held on November 13 at 6:30 pm.
Motion by Meis and seconded by Gardner to adjourn. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 7:00 pm.
