Town of Hiles Board Meeting
Wednesday, October 13, 2010
Hiles Town Hall
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Members present were: Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisor Steve Meis, Clerk Janice Schultz, and Treasurer Kimberly Miner.
The minutes of the September 7, 2010, Hiles Town Board meeting were read. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Roads
• Steve Progreba has done the fall mowing of roads—looks good.
• Berry Road is complete – waiting on the bill. Bill will be submitted for TRIP reimbursement of portion.
• Flooding Damage report. Roads still closed include Boyer, Weisner and Palenico. Palenico will be fixed this Saturday by the Highway Dept. Concerns with private landowner and cranberry marsh prompted this move. Hopefully will get FEMA funding. Correspondence has been shared with FEMA in regards to our budget. All other roads open. All bridges inspected. Cary/Hiles open but 20 feet of shoulder gone and will need repair. Peterson Road will be biggest expense.
• Lawrence Huber cutting/clearing trees from tornado damage. Permission given to put in logs in ditch for short time.
Town Hall Roof – Is complete. Total bill is $4,526.26
Election Training on Monday, October 18th. Jan and Trent will attend.
November election – Trent/Jan, Emma Huber and Katie Potter will work.
Review correspondence
• Jackson County Comprehensive Plan Draft was received on CD and filed
• Notice that Town of City Point has adopted their comprehensive plan was received and filed
• New mound system permit for Terry Smith
• New legislation on electrical inspections of commercial electrical. Form completed and returned to state. Copy on file
• Final estimate of Jan, 2010, population for Town of Hiles is 184
• Estimate of 2011 General Transportation Aids is $32,009.04
• Reminder of needed special assessments by Nov 12,2010 by Wood County Treasurer.
Worked on 2011 budget. Clerk instructed to work with no increase in Town Levy.
Next meeting will be Monday, November 15. In addition to regular business items, Agenda will include:
Motion to adjust 2010 Budget
2011 Budget
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to make all payments as presented. Motion carried.
Motion made by Supervisor Meis and seconded by Chairman Miner to adjourn. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
