Town of Hiles Board Meeting
Wednesday, September 7, 2011
Hiles Town Hall
Chairman Trent Miner called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.
Present were: Chairman Trent Miner, Supervisor Tom Gardner, and Clerk Janice Schultz.
Excused: Supervisor Mark Gudel and Treasurer Kimberly Miner
The minutes of the Wednesday, August 10, Hiles Town Board meeting were presented. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
The Treasurer’s report was presented and is attached. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Chairman Miner to approve as presented. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner presented update on road construction:
• Blacktopping is ongoing right now. The Town Hall lot, Cary-Hiles, and Wallace have been prepped.
• The Dead End sign on Berry Road has been replaced.
• Road ratings have been done and submitted to the State.
• The yearly mileage certification has been signed and sent to the DOT as well.
• The DOT now requires yearly maintenance reports. This can be done online once a training DVD is viewed and a test taken. The form is VERY cumbersome to fill out manually. Chairman Miner has sent for the DVD to enable doing this online.
Steve Pogreba will no longer be doing ditch mowing. Chairman Miner will talk to other Town Chairmen about the situation.
TRIP program—TRIP applications will be coming. Chairman Miner received estimates on Kurt Creek Road and has discussed this project with one of the land managers residing on that road. Estimate = $86,343.50. Possible timeline: 2012 grading and ditching – 2013 overlay. Other possibility is to complete all in one year.
Correspondence
• Reply sent to Boyer Road landowner regarding his response to our work on Boyer Road.
• 2011 Budget and Finance workshops brought to the Board’s attention
• 2011 WisLine Elections Series brought to the Board’s attention.
• DOR Equalization Report received.
• Received Municipal Population Estimate Challenge form—no action to be taken.
Hosting the August 19 Wood County Towns Association meeting at Dexter Town Hall went well.
The next Town Board meeting will be Tuesday, October 11, 2011.
The bills were presented for payment. Moved by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Chairman Miner to make all payments as presented. Motion carried.
Motion made by Supervisor Gardner and seconded by Chairman Miner to adjourn. Motion carried.
Chairman Miner adjourned the meeting at 6:45 p.m.
